• Concealed Cable Routing: The first Shimano STI levers to route both brake and shifter cables under the handlebar tape for a cleaner aesthetic.

• Carbon Fibre Blades: Incorporates unidirectional carbon fibre in the lever blades to reduce weight while maintaining strength.

• Reduced Lever Throw: Shimano claimed a 20% reduction in lever stroke for the rear derailleur, facilitating quicker and more responsive gear changes.

• Integrated Reach Adjuster: Includes a built-in mechanism to adjust the lever's distance from the bar, making them more accessible for riders with smaller hands.

• Weight: A pair of these levers weighs approximately 365g to 366g, which was roughly 40g to 60g lighter than the previous Dura-Ace 7800 model.
